The Roots
In the Philippines, basketball is the main sport! On nearly every street corner, you’ll find a hoop. I remember those afternoons vividly—playing until the sun went down, often without proper shoes. Whether I was in tsinelas (flip-flops) or even barefoot, if there was a rim in a backyard or on a street corner, I was there shooting hoops! We shoot hoops inside our classroom, using the gap between the “chalk board” and the wall as our rim. I turn trash cans into hoop. That drive, that love for the game created a dream inside me that one day I can play on an NBA court. It was a huge and crazy ambition and goal… nevertheless, I wrote it down as one of my 100 things to accomplished before I turn 40.
The Milestone
Fast forward to today, and that dream has become my reality. From the legendary Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena) to the state-of-the-art Intuit Dome, I have had the incredible privilege of playing on the world’s most iconic stages. It has been a journey I once only imagined as a kid in the Philippines.
The Mission
Now, my drive comes from a new purpose: sharing that experience with others. I believe that while it is a gift to achieve your own dreams, it is a greater calling to help someone else achieve theirs. Giving people the opportunity to play on the same courts as NBA greats creates a memory that becomes part of their legacy—a story they will narrate for generations.
I am so thankful to God for giving me and my family these privileges, truly this verse come to life, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 1:13
